Zé Will
Wilian Fernandes Pereira, known as Zé Will, has worked in language acquisition for more than twenty-eight years — in schools, in groups, in private tuition and in consulting, including English for Specific Purposes. He spent nearly eight years inside Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Chancery Officer. He holds a philosophy degree from Unicamp and a CELTA from the University of Cambridge.
Anahytec came out of those two experiences meeting. On one side, years of noting down exactly which sentence was missing when a learner froze — in schools, in groups, in corporate work. On the other, Itamaraty, where disagreeing without rupture and refusing without offence aren't refinements: they're the job.
Hence the question that became a method: why do so many people study a language for years and still can't say what they mean when it matters. The answer wasn't in grammar. It was in what we do with words, and the effect they have.
He has taught at Casa Thomas Jefferson in Brasília. He speaks Spanish, French, English and Portuguese, with beginner's Italian and Hindi. Author of eight books, a Brazilian federal civil servant, based in Brasília.
